Privacy Policy
How Makerverse collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
Last updated: 23 April 2026
1. Introduction
Makerverse (ABN 68 655 228 970) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It applies to information collected through this website and our booking, interest, and support channels.
2. What personal information we collect
We collect only what we need to deliver our experiences. This typically includes: your name, email address, and phone number when you book; your email address and the experience you're interested in when you register interest; and basic technical data (IP address, device, browser, pages viewed) collected automatically through cookies and analytics. During payment, Stripe handles your card details directly — we do not see or store them.
3. How we collect it
We collect information directly from you when you submit a booking or interest form, email us, or otherwise contact us. We also collect technical data automatically via cookies and analytics scripts when you browse the site.
4. Why we collect it and how we use it
We use your information to process bookings, send confirmation and reminder emails, respond to interest signals, understand how the site is used in aggregate, improve our experiences, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Who we share it with
We share information with a small number of trusted service providers: Stripe (payment processing — United States), Google Analytics (site usage analytics — United States), and our internal Makerverse HQ admin system. Under APP 8, we take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle your information consistently with the APPs, and Stripe and Google are bound by their own published privacy commitments.
6. Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site. IP addresses are anonymised by Google at the point of collection. Stripe sets cookies only during the checkout flow to detect fraud. You can opt out of analytics at the browser level (private browsing, tracking protection) or by installing Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Analytics is loaded only on the production site (makerverse.com.au).
7. How we store and protect it
Personal information is held primarily on Australian-region infrastructure where practicable. Access is restricted to authorised personnel. Data in transit is protected by TLS, and storage volumes are encrypted at rest. We retain booking and accounting records for as long as required to meet our legal obligations, and other personal information only for as long as it remains relevant to the purpose for which it was collected.
8. Your rights (APP 12 and APP 13)
You can request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable period (typically 30 days) and may need to verify your identity before disclosing information.
9. Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at [email protected] so we can investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
